In the Genesis poem that starts the Bible, several themes come up. In the creative order, only one created being is both spiritual and physical: humanity. We are the bridge between the Divine and the physical space since humanity has God's breath and image. Consequently EVERYTHING IS SPIRITUAL. We should not compartmentalize our spirituality and treat everything else as secular. Instead, we should see the spiritual in all of our activities.
The poem also shows God as creating for 6 days and then takes 1 day off of creating for "rest". In all His creation, God finds it as "good". Genesis portrays God as enjoying creating the world and tells creation to multiply and create as well. Likewise, the Divine imprint on us is that we are to "create" for 6 days and then take a day for rest, play, and enjoyment.
We should see the grand story that God created a good world. Sin entered the world. God through Jesus embodied the remedy for sin and death. One day He will restore the world and combine Heaven and earth into one space. Thus we anticipate His return to restore this world as it was intended to be. The grand narrative of God's redemption of this world affects every aspect of our lives.
